Many of you have asked to see the beast behind the curtain...
Here it is. We used her to track drums and piano for 4 of the 5 songs on the record.
It's an Otari MX5050 1/2" 8 track tape machine. I got her a year or so ago and was lucky enough to find it in near mint condition sitting in someone's garage in upstate NY. It has been an absolute pleasure digging into the warmth and natural compression of tape. Things do just sound more realistic in a beautiful non-sterile kind of way. Amen analog. Here's to more fun adventures to come.
